LIVING IT UP WITH LOUIS BEGUE
“Music heals,” says Louis Begue, who just a few months ago released his EP, Living Memories. “It saved me many times”. Get him talking about rock and roll, about the magic of song, and Begue rhapsodizes enthusiastically. His project—recorded at Realgrey with Ron Flack at the controls and Benjamin Payne mastering—testifies to his belief in the healing power of music. Begue cites artists as diverse as Eddie Van Halen and Bruce Springsteen as his influences, and although those connections seem miles apart, you can easily find the through line from “Born to Run” to “Dance the Night Away” in Begue’s own bar room rave, “Live it Up”—righteous power chords, joyous hooks, and anthemic storytelling.
