Talk about your experience at Realgrey, what has it meant to you?
I first came to Realgrey through a friend (Spencer Martin). I said, “Hey dude, we should start a songwriting night.” He said, “There’s one already in Canton. It’s actually tonight.” I went that night and I was never the same. The people I met that night were amazing—humble, open, thoughtful. I can’t really talk about it without getting emotional. I became a different kind of songwriter through Ron’s gentleness and encouragement, through listening to greats like Joe Kurtz and Anya A., and through the sage-like spirit of John King. I loved it so much that when I moved to Dubai I recreated an event there as well.

How would you describe the ethos ... experience ... purpose of the studio?
It is raw, organic, hits-you-in-the-gut kind of experience because it’s real. I learned from Ron that the point is not getting on the radio but getting to the heart.

Has the studio influenced your music in any way? If so, how?
Absolutely. My music is way more real, broken, raw, and nuanced because of Realgrey. I learned a lot from lyric writing from Josh [Compton], the power of subtle beauty from Joe Kurtz, and the wonder of vocals from Lila Farris.

Talk about the people that you've encountered at Realgrey ... what has your experience been w/ us?
The experience at Realgrey has been always positive. Everyone there is on time, encouraging, believes in you no matter your style, and respects you as a human and a musician. We love Ron and his vast team(s) for helping us constantly achieve whatever we have in mind. The crew here simply love to be doing what they do.

Nobody there "has" to be there. This is a home to the passioned; you can see it in every photo of musicians grinning as they sign the live room upon wrapping a project.
